The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) hosted its celebratory gala “ArtEdge: Nick Cave and Jack Cave—The Color Is” at the DuSable Museum of African American History’s Roundhouse in May. Attended by 560 guests, the gala raised $2.8 million to support the MCA’s collaborative efforts to provide a platform for living artists, in pursuit of a creative and diverse future. The gala, co-chaired by Julie Bernstein, Marc Brooks, Ellen-Blair Chube, Marilyn and Larry Fields, Nickol Hackett, Jana Hees, Ashley Netzky, Ilan Shalit, and Tarrah Cooper Wright, featured the world premiere of Nick Cave and Jack Cave’s The Color Is, as well as a performance by Patti LaBelle and Nona Hendryx of iconic girl group LaBelle, with a special tribute to the late third member, Sarah Dash. mcachicago.org
