A North Shore homeowner seeks to sell and move to the city. Another sets out to pull up stakes in Chicago and relocate to, say, Winnetka.
An ideal first step for each would be to contact The Flanagan Group, a concierge-level service @properties outfit based in Winnetka. Brokers Annie and Maddie Flanagan—Annie is Maddie’s aunt—formed the group more than 18 months ago. Annie has the sharp eye for architecture and interior design, while Maddie is the go-to maven for all things marketing.
Annie Flanagan lives in Winnetka; Maddie resides in Lincoln Park.
The ins and outs of the Chicago market? The Flanagan Group knows them.
The ins and outs of the markets in the North Shore suburbs? The Flanagan Group knows them, too.
“We’re learning from each other all the time,” Annie says. “That’s what makes our group an effective one. Maddie and I love where we live. We love what we do.”
Their love for the Midwest and Chicago runs deeper than just their real estate connections; The Flanagan family has always believed that it is important to give back to the community, and both are very active in various philanthropic organizations.
They have a combined nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate industry and have lived in the markets they enthusiastically serve for over 30 years. The Flanagan Group’s mission is to consistently provide the highest level of real estate brokerage service for its clients. If you’re looking for market knowledge, local expertise, innovative marketing, tireless work ethic, and dedication to niche markets under one roof, The Flanagan Group has each attribute— in spades.
“We make ourselves available and we always strive to go beyond the transactions and ensure our clients are informed and ready for action,” says Maddie, who grew up in Evanston, graduated from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, and earned a degree in communications at the University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio. “We consider ourselves valuable resources for information on neighborhoods, schools, park district programs, shops, restaurants, and other local businesses.”
She adds, “The best handymen and painters in the area? We know all about them too, and are quick to recommend them to our buyers.”
The aunt and niece meet each Monday morning to map out their busy week. Among the items on a typical Annie/Maddie checklist: inventory for potential clients; showing schedules; setups for staging and virtual staging; adding to their social media presence; ways to enhance email and print marketing for their listings; identifying market trends, and; anticipating the next steps for their clients to ensure they’re informed and ready for action.
Neither Annie nor Maddie cowered at any point during pandemic-laden 2020. Annie—a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate who worked in insurance and risk management before entering the field of real estate and raised her five kids on the North Shore—embraced the challenges associated with COVID-19, recognizing them as golden opportunities to “redefine and refine.” Annie notes that brokers had no choice but to advance technically and emotionally with a focus on safety. “It’ll be interesting to see,” Maddie says, “how brokers continue to adapt to these times.”
The Flanagan Group’s inveterate goal for every client, in two words: exceed expectations.
All while alleviating stress along the way for a momentous journey that, at the outset, could appear daunting to many. Annie and Maddie Flanagan aren’t just fearless @properties brokers; they’re also professionals in the business of assuaging fears.
And they do that by providing highly personalized service. Every. Step. Of. The. Way. “What’s rewarding for us is seeing the high level of excitement on the faces of all of our buyers and sellers but especially, first-time buyers at closings,” Annie says. “They’re beginning new chapters, and they’re about to create incredible memories. We enjoy doing all we can to help them get to that point in their lives.”
