When former founder and CEO of Marbles the Brain Store left her post to pursue new opportunities, this entrepreneur found herself at a crossroads.
“I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted my next move to be,” says Lindsay Gaskins. “But I started to look around and see all of this stuff and realize that there was an opportunity to help people make better decisions about their belongings.”
And that is exactly how All In Order came to be, a business organized to help you assess a problem closet, overflowing garage, or a forgotten storage locker—any area where you need helping sorting through your things. “Our goal is to help people decide what they want to keep, donate, or have appraised to sell,” explains Gaskins. “We’re the only full-service provider where we will actually help you understand the value of what you have and then find the best home for it.”
When called for a consultation, Gaskin’s team will photograph everything in the problematic space, up to 1,000 items. Within 48 hours, they create a digital portfolio of your things and include a recommendation on whether you should keep, donate, or have the item appraised.
“We get to be the objective voice in this process,” explains Gaskins. “A lot of times people become paralyzed when it comes to make decisions about their things—so they don’t do it. Our best clients are people who are ready to make a change but they need help going about it.”
Gaskin prides herself on the fact that All In Order works to present the best environmental solutions when clearing a space. “Our goal isn’t to add to the landfills,” she says. “For most things, we can find a new place where an item can be put to good use.”
All In Order prices their services based on the size of the space and the number of items that need to be inventoried. “Typically, from our first meeting to clearing the space, can be done within a week,” Gaskins explains. “But if someone is moving and has accelerated deadlines, we will do our best to work within those time constraints.”
All In Order has a proven track record with clients in downtown Chicago and looks forward to expanding their business along the North Shore. “We have found that we can really help people feel better about their lives by helping them declutter.”
