The Occasion: Few traditions mark the beginning of the autumn season like the Guild of the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Harvest Ball, which this year drew 450 guests to the breathtaking grounds of the North Shore attraction.
The Details: Guests sipped Moët & Chandon champagne in their festive black-tie dress as they perused auction items before being seated for dinner.
The VIPs: Sally Brown Thilman of Chicago and Caroline Masterson of Lake Forest served as the auction co-chairs, and Megan Hoffmann of Winnetka, Emily DeGroot of Chicago, and Kendra Thornton of Winnetka headed up the auction.
The End Result: Going on to benefit the Chicago Botanic Garden’s youth and teach education programs that hope to inspire lifelong interest in science and respect for the environment, more than $400,000 was raised.
