Thomas Cauley, has been the president of the Village of Hinsdale for 10 years and served as a trustee for two years. He and wife, Sharon, have lived in the village for more than 30 years, raising their family here. They have three children— Justin, Ryan, and Megan—as well as two grandchildren, Maddie and Penny. The couple also has a 13-year-old dachshund named Ruby. Cauley says he’s looking forward to lighting the Christmas tree again this month as the holiday season commences. Here are a few of his favorite lasts:
Last holiday memory that you’ll never forget?
Vacationing with my wife, Sharon, and our three children and two grandchildren in Palm Springs last Christmas.
Last great meal you had in downtown Hinsdale?
There are certainly lots of fine restaurants in Hinsdale. My last great meal was the lamb chops at Harry & Eddie’s.
Last amazing gift you received?
My son, Justin, gave me a really nice ski jacket last year that I wore all last winter and plan to wear for many winters to come.
Last trip you took that you want to do all over again?
My wife and I traveled to southern Germany several years ago. We loved the castles and scenery.
Last song that made you sing out loud?
Unfortunately—but fortunately for others— I don’t recall having sung out loud since I was a choir boy in grade school. Also, I listen almost exclusively to instrumental jazz without words to sing by.
