Disa Magee was born and raised in the working-class neighborhood of Bridgeport on the south side of Chicago. She credits her parents Paul and Mary Jo Playo and siblings, Paul and Lauren, to giving her a solid foundation in life. “I am blessed with a tight-knit family and still have the same core group of girlfriends since I was 11 years old,” says Magee, who now lives in southeast Hinsdale with her husband of 9 years, Don Magee. Together they own and operate Midway Building Services Entities and stay busy raising their three children, Jake (11), Luke (8), and Giuliana (7)—all who are active in school and sports activities. “We wouldn’t be able to be so successful without the help of Tita, who keeps our home filled daily with laughter and love or Frankie, my house manager who keeps my schedule on point, plans functions, and is a beloved manny to our children.” Magee and her family attend Hope Church in LaGrange and contribute to a variety of missions supported by their church. Here are a few of this busy mother’s favorite things about country and town.
