Yamile Simmons has always heard the same thing from her friends: “You dress so well. I wish I could dress like you!” Simmons always thought, “It’s not that difficult; it just takes a few of the right pieces and knowing how to put them together.”
Referred to by friends and clients as an American fashionista, Yamile Simmons possesses an understanding of the fashion needs of today’s modern woman, and has conveyed this through her many ideas and exquisite fashion sense that embodies chic sophistication and style.
Now she’s giving her friends—and everyone else—the ability to shop her style with her new startup, the Billionaire Women’s Club. As president and CEO, Simmons sources fashions and sells them on an online shopping website.
“I choose the colors and the styles that give you a high-end look that you can afford.”
All the items on the site are brand new reproductions of luxury fashion brands—high-quality and at much more affordable prices than you’d pay for designer and couture brands. The website launched in November, and the inventory is changing all the time based the season and trends.
On the site, you can shop ready-to-wear fashions, dresses, pants and tops, handbags, belts, phone cases, pumps, mules, jeans, and more. Images offer multiple, rotating views of products, such as backpacks and handbags that look just like the latest, much-pricier designer bags in stores. The same goes for stylish tops, dresses, and jeans that resemble the latest runway looks. Shoes, belts, phone cases, and brooches add that finishing touch. As a bonus, shoppers receive free delivery on orders over $150.
The company’s Facebook and Instagram pages offer outfit ideas, styling tips, the latest fashion and runway news, and related videos of what’s doing and who’s doing it in the fashion world.
Simmons has a unique sense of style, but one that’s rooted in the fashion industry. She has an international business degree, and attended the New York Institute of Arts and Design. She also studied brand building in the fashion industry with Diane Von Furstenberg, inspiring her creativity and ambitions and giving her a solid foundation on which she has built her personal brand and new business.
“Everybody wants to feel good,” Simmons says. “You don’t have to be a certain type of woman to be fashionable. Any woman can look amazing. I want my name and my company to be stylish, but I want everyone to know they can look this way.”
The company’s tag line sums it up: We don’t do fashion. We are fashion.
