Margaret Cox, Oak Brook resident and mother of three, is loving life in the gym. The owner of Burn Boot Camp in Naperville and Westmont suffered a medical scare in 2016 and subsequent operation, which prompted Cox to focus on her health for herself and for her children.
While making her own health a priority, she is also sending her kids an important message—regular exercise and adopting healthy lifestyles now will positively affect the rest of their lives.
Here are a few of this busy mom’s lasts.

Split-second decision that changed your life?
When I decided to move out east to New York City. I lived out east for 10 years and had all my children out there before moving back.
Moment when you realized that opening your business was the right thing to do?
When a member told me that she could only jump rope two times when she started and now she can do over 50 without stopping.
Mother’s Day gift you received that you will not soon forget?
I still have my kids’ preschool pictures in their hand-colored frames. They are my favorite.
Fabulous meal enjoyed with family?
Christmas dinner with my kids, parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. There are about 60 of us. It is a fabulous meal.
Great book you read that inspired you?
My first boss in NYC made all of us read Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson. It’s a very simple business book and I love it.
