The ingredients that make for a successful partnership are never guaranteed—whether it be in marriage or business. That’s why this one in particular is worth noting. Tina Porterfield and Anna Fiascone—agents with Berkshire Hathaway KoenigRubloff in Hinsdale—are considered a sort of dynamic duo in area real estate by their many satisfied, and repeat, clients over the years. Perhaps it is more because of their differences, rather than their similarities, that this team has found a winning combination that works.
“The most important thing about Anna and I working together is that we are a complementary team in the business,” says Porterfield. “I have 44 years experience, and have seen the fluctuations in the market and how it changes over the years. And Anna, who was a real estate attorney before she got in to this business, has that experience plus she brings energy and a fresh eye to our work with clients.”
Porterfield got her start in real estate in 1973 when she and her husband decided to get their real estate licenses, since his family owned Porterfield Real Estate in Hinsdale. At first, Porterfield began selling homes in the evenings and on weekends.
“I started selling to my friends,” she says. “We were all getting married, and everyone was buying their first homes and having families.” It wasn’t long before she realized real estate was her passion and she began working full time at the family business, which has gone through a few names changes over the years.
Fiascone joined the firm, then named Prudential Rubloff Hinsdale, seven years ago after moving from Chicago to Hinsdale. She had previously worked as a real estate attorney, which has proven to be very beneficial to her current work, and adds to the bench strength this team brings to their clients.
“I’ve lived in Hinsdale with my family for ten years now, and I can relate to people who are relocating here,” says Fiascone. “When I was new to the community, I jumped right in with both feet, getting very involved in the community.” Fascione is able to help newcomers and younger families navigate and make their new community a home.
Now a grandparent who has downsized over the years to the home she shares with her husband in Oak Brook, Porterfield is very aware of the different strengths and experience she and Fiascone bring to their partnership. “Our spheres of influence are very different, ranging from the cradle to the grave, in terms of our ability to interact with clients and understand where they are coming from.”
To that end, Porterfield is very aware that providing highly personalized service is still the cornerstone of hers and Fiascone’s success.
“A lot of the agents these days are really into automating everything, with everything technology driven,” she explains. “And, while we are up to par with all of that, we still have a very hands on approach. When a client calls, they get one of us, not directions to a web link or an assistant.”
The ladies are particularly enthusiastic about the new interior 3-D tour they can offer listing clients. “A little drone flies around the house,” laughs Porterfield, “It gives a whole different perspective on a home that can’t be achieved with photography or even virtual tours.”
When it comes to their personal service, Porterfield and Fiascone make it clear that they provide this service to all price points. “Because of the difference in our ages and experience, we list homes ranging from $150,000 condos to $4 million houses and everything in between.” The team services communities including Hinsdale, Western Springs, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, and Willowbrook.
Both women also feel strongly in giving back, and have been actively involved in community organizations over the years, including their own local churches, Wellness House, the Junior Women’s Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and many others.
To sum up, Porterfield says, “The market is active; people are buying and selling houses.” Fiascone adds, “This has been one of our best years.”
You’ll be in good hands with this dynamic duo for sure.
