Mantra? “The belief in a thing makes it happen,” a Frank Lloyd Wright quote.
Best grooming tip? A good night’s sleep and a big, genuine, authentic smile.
Guilty pleasures? Portillo’s chocolate cake and watching the bachelor/bachelorette with my daughter.
Favorite foods? Pizza, or anything that I don’t have to cook myself.
On your car radio? Anything from my hometown Detroit—from Aretha, Diana, Marvin, Stevie and Smokey to Eminem, Kid Rock, and the White Stripes. Most people don’t realize what a vortex of creativity and design that whole area is.
Best advice ever given to you? “Everything in moderation, including moderation.”
Best advice you’ve ever given? Casey Kasem’s words of wisdom: “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.”
Earliest memory? Making mud pies in my sandbox and bringing them to my sweet elderly neighbors. They always acted so excited and thankful and then we’d sip tea out of their fancy teacups.
When you wake up? Enjoy a cup of coffee and visualize how I’d like my day to go.
Before bed? Think of three things that made me happy that day.
What’s on my bookshelf? A variety of crystals, a Tibetan singing bowl, and a great collection of spiritual books.
You can’t live without? Making time to listen to that still small voice inside.
Where do you escape? The Michigan beaches.
Advice to Your Younger Self? Easy on the back-combing and hairspray!
