When Mark King used to ride with his father to work, little did he know the seeds of landscaping creativity were being planted all along. Mark’s father, an engineer for International Harvester, supplemented his income by mowing lawns. In 1959, he started his own company which Mark eventually took over in the 1980s.
“Mark has grown the company to where it is now,” says Noel King, director of operations for the company and Mark’s wife. “He really took it to the next level.”
Today, King’s Landscaping Company has it all, including four landscape architects, an architect, maintenance technicians, and seasoned foremen and staff, which allows King’s Landscaping Company to meet all their customers’ needs without having to bring in other vendors. “Once a customer meets with one of our employees, that is who they work with the entire way through the project,” Noel adds.
King’s Landscaping Company is different from other companies in that they rely on personal contact with customers until the project is completed to full satisfaction. Once you meet with the designer or landscape architect, that is your primary contact for the whole project. “We are a full service landscape company. The architect will listen to what you have to say, draw upon your ideas, and relate them to a
completed project,” Noel says. “No one else is involved.”
And with the evolution of the outdoor living space, having personal attention is key to making the area fit your family’s needs. The outdoor space is an extension of your home, and King’s Landscaping
Company wants to specifically design the area to accommodate all members of the family.
The latest trend—outdoor living space with kitchens—is great for entertaining.
According to Noel, “Any time you build an outdoor area, you become the go-to house.” An added bonus is that it keeps the teenagers close to home.
Some of the outdoor living spaces can be extravagant, but you can get the same effect for less money. “It’s really a misnomer that outdoor living spaces are so expensive,” says Noel. “Everything can
be done within your budget.”
Koi Ponds, waterfalls, and other pool features are also attractive options for those looking to drown out excessive noise in the area. “They are a huge trend right now because of the sound, which makes you feel like you’re on a relaxing vacation,” she says.
King’s Landscaping Company also creates planting designs that can transform the backyards to an urban oasis. Plants add a pop of seasonal color and can be used to maintain privacy between homes.
Aside from full service maintenance, King’s Landscaping Company provides every service for your outdoor needs. Paver driveways, heated pool decks, patios, outdoor pergolas, outdoor furniture, and more are just some of the features King’s Landscaping Company does to make your home feel like a vacation in your back yard. “We try to appeal to everyone, which is why we’ve had some repeat customers for more than 20 years. We consider that the highest form of praise,” says Noel. “We go the extra mile because it’s the little things that make the difference.”
