If you and your family have been to Uniquely Thursdays this summer, your children may have scored some of Frey Orthodontics’ fun giveaways—like the big smiley face balloons, Dips ‘n Dogs certificates, or their quirky “bent” pens with the expression, “Let us straighten up your smile!” Or maybe you’ve stood in line with them to play the High Wire game or Tower of Teeth that kids just can’t get enough of.
Hinsdale resident Dr. Dwight Frey and his fiancée and business partner, Shannon Courtemanche, know how important it is to engage in and give back to their community. That’s one reason he opened a Hinsdale office last year as an extension to his well-established primary Naperville practice.
“Our intention in coming to Hinsdale was to open a part-time practice in the community where we live,” says Dr. Frey. “In addition to Uniquely Thursdays, we sponsor a baseball team, recently participated in the RML 5K Run and Clarendon Hill’s Daisy Days, and donated a full-treatment case to St. Isaac Jogues School where our son Chase is a student.”
A cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan and Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Frey has established a reputation for his use of progressive treatments and skill with difficult cases. He uses a 3-D cam that allows him to make custom brackets and arch wires, for example, instead of the one-size-fits-all stock appliances that many orthodontists still use. “Custom orthodontics are proven to yield more accurate and efficient results in a comfortable way,” he explains, “and at a competitive cost to traditional braces.” He also offers the most aesthetic bracket on the market that makes wearing orthodontic braces virtually invisible.
Among his many awards and accomplishments, Dr. Frey was invited to be a member of the Invisalign Innovation Leadership Panel to provide input on making their product better, and has been named one of “America’s Top Dentists” three times by the Consumer Research Council of America.
Dr. Frey adds, “We are conservative in doing early treatment for young children who don’t have all of their teeth in.” Often, orthodontists urge parents to start treatment earlier, and at a greater cost, than Dr. Frey feels is necessary to get the same results once the child’s mouth has matured a bit more.
Dr. Frey recently learned that he would not be given the opportunity to renew his Hinsdale lease at the end of this month. But he wants people to know that this is a temporary situation, so look for his growing practice and new offices in Hinsdale over the coming months. Due to the short notice he received, Dr. Frey will temporarily treat existing patients in his Naperville office until a suitable Hinsdale location can be secured.
“We are planning on taking care of our clients,” says Dr. Frey who will put the patient’s best interest first so that they receive excellent treatment in the most convenient way to meet their needs. “I will offer patients the opportunity to come to Naperville at a discount, or I will facilitate the transfer to another orthodontist and make it easy and equitable for all parties,” he says.
