Handing over the largest check to any charity in HJWC history, $200,000 was donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. Also honored with the President’s Award was Shelly McMillin, whose service and dedication as the Treasurer of the Executive Board for the past year made her an obvious and appreciated choice. The HJWC installed their new Executive Board during the event, as former president Denise Howe transferred her duties over to Amity Comiskey. Lastly, it was announced that the Hephzibah Children’s Association in Oak Park, a child welfare organization providing group homes, foster care, and family services to the community, will be the organization’s chosen not-for-profit focus for the coming term.
