Women’s Board and Board of Trustees of the Chicago Zoological Society
Entitled “It’s a Wonderful Whirl,” supporters and friends of the Women’s Board and Board of Trustees of the Chicago Zoological Society gathered at Brookfield Zoo on April 21 for the Chicagoland landmark’s annual gala. More than 700 business and civic leaders from the community came together to celebrate the Society’s legacy of animal care, compassion, and conservation. The evening began with cocktails, where guests mingled with the most interesting party-goers: a flamingo, bald eagle, fennec fox, penguin, llama, red-tailed hawk, great-horned owl, and a lynx. Guests supported the Society by participating in a paddle raise, raffle, and live auction, which included incredible jewelry and sports and vacation packages. More than $1.3 million was raised to support the animals at Brookfield Zoo, as well as the Chicago Zoological Society’s conservation and education programs.
