Tina developed an interest in real estate shortly after her college graduation. Following her wedding in 1973, she and her husband decided to get their real estate licenses, as his family owned Porterfield Real Estate in Hinsdale. At first, Tina began selling homes in the evenings and on weekends, as she also worked full-time at a bank downtown. “I started selling houses to my friends,” she says. “We were all young and just getting married, so everyone was buying their first homes.” When she realized that real estate was her true passion, she decided to work full-time at Porterfield Real Estate. For the past 37 years, Tina has been with the company, which has gone through a few name changes over time.
Anna joined Prudential Rubloff Hinsdale more recently, after moving from Texas to Chicago, then from Chicago to Hinsdale three years later. Prior to her career as a real estate agent, she had worked as a real estate attorney, which proved to be very beneficial when she transitioned to her current work. She knew Tina prior to joining Prudential Rubloff and was impressed with what she saw at the company. “Prudential Rubloff, as far as what they offer their agents, is above and beyond any other company that I talked to—with their marketing and their support,” Anna says.
Tina and Anna have been working as a team for about a year now, serving buyers and sellers mainly in Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Oak Brook, and Burr Ridge. Together, they make a perfect real estate team. “We feel like it’s a unique and great combination,” Tina says. “I’ve been in the business for a long time and have a lot of experience. Anna’s younger, so she has a lot of energy and enthusiasm.” Tina works mainly with sellers, because she has a long-standing reputation in the communities and is known by many local people. Anna, on the other hand, usually works with buyers—especially young couples or families who are moving from the city to the suburbs. Because both Tina and Anna have unique professional capabilities, they bring a new level of expertise to their profession.
One of the best aspects of their job as realtors in the Hinsdale area is their freedom to work with many types of properties. “We have listings in the $200,000 to $300,000 range, and the $2 million to $3 million range, with everything in between,” Tina says. “To me, that’s part of why this business has been fun for all these years: The variety of properties is unlimited, virtually.” The communities they serve are also a realtor’s dream, with their convenient proximity to the city, nationally renowned schools, and beautiful, well-maintained neighborhoods.
The Hinsdale area is one that Tina and Anna have both grown to love over the years. Tina and her husband raised their children here; now, her son and daughter are both married, and Tina is experiencing the joy of being a new grandmother. She likes to stay busy with her work on the Wellness House Board and enjoys golf and paddle tennis. Anna is also very involved in the community; she serves on the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club and the Hinsdale Hospital Outreach Committee, and she is one of the co-chairs for the upcoming Hinsdale Cooks! Kitchen Walk. In her free time, Anna also enjoys being with her husband and their 2-year-old daughter. “She keeps me very busy!” Anna says with a laugh. As they go about their workdays, it’s clear that Tina and Anna share a passion for their work, their communities, and their families.
