PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE
PICASSO AND EINSTEIN walk into a Parisian bar, both believing they are the greatest gift to mankind. The events that ensue from there in “Picasso At the Lapin Agile,” can only be created in the “Wild and Crazy” mind of comedian Steve Martin in a comedy that plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century’s achievements and prospects. Lake Forest’s Citadel Theatre is resurrecting this classic (which it staged nearly 20 years ago) in a production running through May 22. Directed by Artistic Director Scott Phelps, “Picasso at The Lapin Agile” is the reminder we all needed to get out and start enjoying our community once again.

SUNFLOWERS FOR UKRAINE
ART POP’S “Artists for Ukraine” sunflower community art project features artists from all over Lake County who join in effort to help the people of Ukraine during this difficult time. New sunflower artwork is being donated daily with proceeds donated to a variety of charities for Ukraine relief efforts as part of Artists On The Bluff ’s new “What’s Up With That?” exhibit.
“It’s so fulfilling to be part of ART POP and to help build collections for art lovers while also supporting the country of Ukraine!” says Beth McKenna, an Artists on The Bluff member, and co-curator of “What’s Up with That?”
Ukrainian pastel artist, Tatiana Jacenkiw kicked off the exhibit March 31 with a demonstration of her talent and a Q&A about Ukraine. “She has a lot of historic knowledge and insight into the terrible situation,” adds Sandie Bacon, Artists On The Bluff President and leader of ART POP. In addition, Tatiana has donated a painting symbolic of her home country for sale at ART POP.
ART POP is located at 724 Western Avenue in Lake Bluff. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday or by appointment. For more information, visit artistsonthebluff.org.
