As the holidays draw near, so does Lake Forest’s most charitable shopping event. The Women’s Board of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital will host its annual Holiday Boutique from Thursday, November 21 through Saturday, November 23 at the Lake Forest Recreation Center. Guests can mingle and shop from a curated selection of top retail vendors in one convenient location.
Proceeds from the holiday boutique will directly impact that board’s fundraising goals, maximizing its contribution to their $1 million pledge to fund the technology for the new Simulation and Education Center at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital.
The Simulation and Education Center is the next major project on the hospital campus. It will be located on the ground floor of the former Hunter Building and when it opens will provide state-of-the-art training and simulation for teams across the hospital and for the community,” says Women’s Board President Kristin McCain. “The Simulation and Education Center will be located on the ground floor of the former Hunter Building.”
The 2019 Holiday Boutique will include more than 40 vendors—featuring a variety of one-of-a-kind pieces, ranging from children’s clothing, toys and festive home accents, men’s and women’s fashions, jewelry, and accessories, including Jott as well as the ever-popular Tuckernuck. Guests can get a first peek at the “Mistletoe & Holly” Preview Party (chaired by Diana Webb, Lindsay Nero, and Stephanie Knight) on Wednesday, November 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. as they sip on signature cocktails and seasonal delights from Heller Catering.
The Preview Party raffle is underwritten by Tiffany & Co. and sure to make any woman’s holidays a little brighter. Tickets to the “Mistletoe & Holly” Preview Party are two for $100, so shop with a friend or $65 each ($75 at the door).
The boutique itself, open at 10 a.m. daily, will also have a few surprises. To celebrate the Holiday Boutique’s 40th anniversary, the first 40 guests on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 will be given a “special” gift. And on Saturday, November 23 at 10 a.m., there will be “Daddy & Donuts!” Donuts and coffee will be available to dads and their children while they shop, compliments of Lee Donuts and Hansa Coffee.
“As we toast our Holiday Boutique’s 40th Anniversary, it’s also the end of an era, as our event co-chairs for four straight years—Taddy Opat, Stephanie Bournakis and Ginny Noble—complete their final run at the helm of this multi-day event,” McCain says. “We applaud their success in making the boutique so successful and such a special holiday experience for the community. This event embodies the spirit of shopping for a good cause.”
Boutique admission is $10 per person; $5 for seniors or students; and complimentary for hospital employees, Lake Forest or Lake Bluff school teachers, and city employees.
