Ragdale kicked off its 13th annual Novel Affair evening, bringing together acclaimed creatives and community members for an evening of conversation in support of the nonprofit. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception with the twelve guest authors at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff before moving to six North Shore homes for intimate dinner conversations with the authors. Featured authors included Mona Simpson, Carmen Gimenez Smith, Rumaan Alam, Rebecca Makkai, Melanie Benjamin, Julie Klam, Benjamin Dreyer, Kathleen Rooney, Jamel Brinkley, Laura Lippman, Jean Kwok, and Faisal Mohyuddin. ragdale.org
