The Board of Directors of Midwest Young Artists (MYA) announces the details of their 2015 Ignite the Night Benefit. Chicago Symphony Choir Director Duain Wolfe will be the distinguished guest and Golden Baton Award Recipient. MYA board President Thomas S. Sharp will be accepting the Take Note Award.

The Golden Baton Award is given to exceptional leaders and musicians whose work exemplifies MYA’s values of work-ethic, talent, dedication, reliability and responsibility and whose lives are akin to MYA’s mission “to build a home with the power of music to enrich the lives of their students and communities”.

The Take Note Award is given to a member of the MYA community who has given exceptional service to advance MYA’s mission.
The evening will include live musical performances by MYA students, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auction, dinner, wine pull, and raffle. Raffle Grand Prize includes a $2500 Amazon gift card.

About MYA: Midwest Young Artists is a top rated youth music ensemble programs in the Midwest and represents some of the best young musicians in the country. The program offers exceptional training in jazz, choral, chamber and orchestral instruction. MYA currently reaches more than 1,000 students from 74 communities in the metropolitan Chicago area with eight youth orchestras, more than 65 chamber music ensembles, four choral ensembles, an all-inclusive jazz program, early childhood education, and classes in music theory and history.
