Meet Award-winning YA Author Jason Reynolds at The Skokie Public Library

On Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30 PM, meet award-winning YA author Jason Reynolds, discussing and signing copies of his new novel for young people, Patina at the Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton Street in Skokie, IL. This event is presented in conjunction with The Book Stall, an independent bookstore on Chicago’s north shore. It is free but registration is requested. You can register on the library’s website or by calling them at 847-673-7774 (beginning on September 1st). Recommended for grades 4 and up.

Jason Reynolds is the author of many award-winning books for children, including the Skokie 2017 Hot Summer Read Ghost. He’s a New York Times bestselling author, a National Book Award Honoree, a Kirkus Award winner, a Walter Dean Myers Award winner, an NAACP Image Award Winner, and the recipient of multiple Coretta Scott King honors. His debut novel was When I Was the Greatest and was followed by Boy in the Black Suit; All American Boys; As Brave As YouJump Anyway; and the first two books in the Track series, Ghost and Patina. You can discover more at JasonWritesBooks.com.

In a starred review, Kirkus says of Patina, “Writing in Patty’s voice, Reynolds creates a fully dimensional, conflicted character whose hard-earned pragmatism helps her bring her relay team together, negotiate the social dynamics of the all-girls, mostly white private school she attends, and make the best of her unusual family lot. When this last is threatened, readers will ache right alongside her. Another stellar lap–readers will be eager to see who’s next.”

For more information or to reserve a signed copy of Mr. Reynold’s work, please contact The Book Stall, 847-446-8880, [email protected].
