Guests attended the Evanston-based Bach Week Festival’s “Gallery Gala” fundraiser in February at the Evanston Art Center, featuring classical chamber music by the North Shore’s Black Oak Ensemble and viewings of the art center’s contemporary art exhibits. Bach Week Festival performances for 2018 are April 27 and 29 at Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and May 4 in Chicago at North Park University’s Anderson Chapel. Festival highlights include performances by international concert pianist Sergei Babayan and the world-premiere of a new work for solo cello by acclaimed composer Marcos Balter, to be performed by Chicago Symphony Orchestra cellist Katinka Kleijn. bachweek.org
