For more than a decade, April Graves of Light Drawn Studios in Barrington has been photographing children as fairies for inclusion in the annual Beautiful Things with Wings calendar—with proceeds going to support WINGS, a local nonprofit organization that provides shelter and services for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Fairy portrait sessions for the 2019 calendar will be held June 18-22, July 16-20, and August 14-16 at a Barrington location. Costumes are provided. “These portrait sessions are truly a magical experience and a wonderful way to teach your children to give to those in need,” says Graves. To schedule your session, call Light Drawn Studios at 224-655-7801 or visit lightdrawnstudios.com. To find out more about WINGS, visit wingsprogram.com.
We hear the casting call for America’s Top Dog Model took place in late April at the South Florida Pet Expo in West Palm Beach, Fla., with three finalists selected for a future calendar and to compete for the coveted 2018 title. Barrington Hills resident Kelcey Roberts and her Lily, America’s Top Dog Model in 2017, made an appearance. Lily will be featured on the America’s Top Dog Model 2019 calendar that’s due out next month. The theme for America’s Top Dog Model 2018 contest is “Hollywood Paws,” with a focus on up-and-coming canine influencers. For more information about the organization, visit americastopdogmodel.com.
Barrington High School sweethearts Lauren Decraene and Ryan Trzaska were excited to share the announcement of their upcoming nuptials with their closest friends and family. A chic and romantic Italian restaurant and bar was the ideal setting. Regal royal blue furniture was brought in to highlight the restaurant’s dark tones. Accents of silver and monogrammed elements gave the party a glamorous and personalized touch. The couple’s love was highlighted at the party with oversized engagement photos that hung as artwork above the buffet table and dessert display. Customized cocktail napkins, catchy food label cards, and decorative letters with the couple’s initials were placed around the room. Every sparkling detail arranged by Christina Currie and her team was a tribute to the romantic pair.
