Barrington Children’s Charities (BCC) is hosting its annual Holly Ball, a fundraising event to continue their mission of helping children in need from Barrington District 220. This year’s gala—”It’s a Wonderful Life, Let’s Share It With Others”—is being co-chaired by Christie Shoemacher and Erin Vondra on Saturday, December 10 and is being held in a new venue—the beautiful and elegantly renovated Motor Werks auto dealership in Barrington.
Barrington Children’s Charities is a not-for-profit charitable organization of dedicated men and women working together to positively impact the lives of children. Run entirely by volunteers, Barrington Children’s Charities donates monies raised to support and address the social, emotional, physical, and educational needs of children within the Barrington District 220 area and chooses its beneficiaries based on need.
“I’m not sure that many people understand that Barrington Children’s Charities helps our local children,” explains Shoemacher, who moved to Barrington from the city when she and her husband started their family. “And when we say local, these children may be sharing a classroom with our own kids.”
Supporting an incredibly worthwhile endeavor, the Holly Ball promises to be an elegant evening—with a cocktail hour, seated dinner, live auction, the signature jewelry raffle, and dancing. Styling master and OMO owner Mosie Himes will festively appoint the event in the season’s best.
“For us, it truly is a wonderful life,” adds Vondra. “We’re lucky to be able to give back in this special way.”
