Marcy Sparr, owner of LUXE Wearhouse in Kildeer, knows a thing or two about being fashionable. Here are some of her favorites from around country and town. PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROBIN SUBAR
What’s on the horizon? Fall is such a busy shopping season at LUXE and requires a lot of my time. However, I really want to make sure that I set aside time to do the things unique to fall like our annual apple picking and pumpkin patch trips as a family. I am also excited to co-chair the Service for Seniors committee for BJWC.
Mantra? LIVE every moment, LAUGH every day, LOVE beyond words.
Best grooming tip? Keep it simple. If I’m short on time, I put on lip gloss and mascara and I’m out the door.
Guilty pleasure? Watching The Bachelor.
Favorite foods? Sushi and Mexican.
Music you love? I love all Country music.
Best advice ever given to you? My Dad has always told me that “no matter what you do in life— just try your best, have fun, and don’t be afraid to fail.”
Best advice you’ve given? Believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams.
Earliest memory? Family vacations to Sanibel Island in Florida.
When you wake up, you? Try to get in a quick 30-minute workout before starting my day.
Before bed you? Sit down with my husband and get caught up on the day.
What’s on your bookshelf? The latest InStyle magazine, The Happiness Project, and a James Patterson book.
You can’t live without? My friends and family.

WHEN IN THE COUNTRY
Your style is? Casual—my go-to outfit is distressed jeans, a t-shirt, cozy open cardigan, and my sneakers or flats.
Can’t leave the house without? My Cofi leather crossbody bag.
Transportation? My SUV.
Driving music? When I am alone in the car, I listen to “Today’s Country,” but when I am with my kids, it is “Kids Bop Radio.”
Place to eat? Shakou.
Shop? Since most of my days are at spent at LUXE Wearhouse, I seldom get out to shop. When I am in need of a gift, I go to Heads Up Apparel ,and if I need something for my home I will go to Homegoods.
Best thing about the Country? The close-knit community and the friends I have met.
Worst thing about Country? The freight trains.
The perfect day is? A lazy Sunday morning including breakfast at Egg Harbor, followed by watching my kids at sporting events, and then ending the day with an impromptu barbeque with friends.
WHEN IN TOWN
Your style is? Casual chic—I typically wear dark skinny jeans, printed blouse layered under a moto jacket, and my favorite ankle boots.

Transportation? Metra and Uber.
Driving music? “Top 40” Hits.
Place to eat? Mercadito.
Shop? I like to check out and support the small independent boutiques in neighborhoods like Lakeview and Bucktown.
Best thing about the Town? I love that there is always something to see or do whether it is a street fest, a new restaurant/bar opening, or a new play that comes to town.
Worst thing about the Town? Definitely the traffic.
The perfect day is? Grabbing lunch with my city friends, taking a walk along the lake, and ending the day having dinner and drinks with my husband on a rooftop overlooking the city.
