Inverness’s Claire Miller focuses her time and talents on raising her two busy teenagers with her husband Buck, while supporting non-profit projects and causes that speak to her as a woman and mother. She was recently hired as a publicist for PHD Counseling Center where she promotes the organization’s work with women suffering from mental health issues such as postpartum depression, grief, and anxiety. Miller is also a board member and grant coordinator for Barrington Children’s Charities. “The generosity in our area is extraordinary,” she says. “It’s so energizing to work with people to help those within our community who need a helping hand and an understanding heart.” Here’s how Miller stays on trend.
In Her Earbuds
“My favorite way to start the day is with an early morning run. If I don’t have my running buddies to keep me company, I love to listen to Spotify’s ‘Cardio Workout’ which includes ‘Handclap’ by Fitz and the Tantrums. That song really pushes me to run an extra mile.”
From Her Mobile
“I am a news junkie and I don’t want to miss a thing. I’m constantly getting news alerts on my phone from everywhere—WBEZ, CNN, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, even The Skimm. And if I can’t watch football on Sunday, I rely on my NFL mobile app to give me up-to- the-minute Packer scores. Sorry Bears’ fans!”
On Her Nightstand
“One of my favorite family photographs taken in the fall at Citizens Park; Mindset, a book I have read many times because I need the reminder to have a growth mindset as a person and parent; David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell, which I have been trying to read for months and am determined to finish. Oh, and did I mention my readers? I need those near me to enjoy all of the above!”
