Highwood’s wildly successful Bloody Mary Fest kicked off at Everts Park in late July. Hundreds from the local community and beyond came out to eat, drink and be merry. Mixologists from local bars and restaurants shook up their one-of-a-kind recipes for the panel of celebrity judges, vying for awards in four categories including Judges’ Choice, People’s Choice, Best Garnish and Most Creative. This year’s winners were Valor and Culinary Gangster Food Truck of Glencoe for Judges’ Choice; The Toadstool Pub for People’s Choice; Scotty’s on Sheridan for Best Garnish; and Elsie Mae’s Canning & Pies for Most Creative. celebratehighwood.org/bloody-mary-fest
