LAKE FOREST – The Women’s Republican Club of Lake Forest-Lake Bluff on Wednesday May 23 will host candidate for U.S. House 10th District Doug Bennett, fresh off a grueling three-way GOP primary for the U.S. House seat in the 10th District. He will be at Barrett Davie’s campaign headquarters at 506 N. Western Avenue (next door to Egg Harbor) from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Lake Forest’s own Barrett Davie is running for the Illinois Senate (29th).
Doug will answer questions about his candidacy with a focus on the high cost of college tuition and the Trump agenda. Americans hold over $1 trillion in outstanding student loan debt, which surpasses the amount of personal credit card debt held in the United States. This is a significant problem, putting the brakes on the younger generation’s ability to afford the “American Dream.”
Doug will also discuss why he will not support any increase in taxes when elected to Congress and why he signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge, a commitment to oppose any and all tax increases.
