Beacon Place is planning a special celebration to commemorate its five year anniversary. The annual spring fundraiser will take place on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Lake Forest Club, 554 N. Westmoreland Road, in Lake Forest.
The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. With more than 1,800 guests invited, it is expected that the event will be filled with attendees from all over Lake County and north suburban Chicago communities. With a casual atmosphere along with beverages and light fare, guests will have a chance to meet some of the children and families of the Beacon Place community, and hear how their lives have been impacted by the programs of this important community center.
“This is a chance to reflect on how far we have come in such a short time, and plan for our future,” said Barbara LaFasto, founder and executive director of Beacon Place. “We could not be where we are without the tremendous support of all of our partners – the donors and volunteers who have changed lives and inspired dreams for so many in our community.”
Beacon Place is a community center in southeast Waukegan with programs for kids and adults that allow them to see a path toward their own brighter tomorrow by building the life skills they need to achieve their dreams. The goal of each Beacon Place program is to provide enriching and fulfilling experiences that allow the participant to grow both as an individual as well as a part of the broader community.
“Our success at Beacon Place will never be determined by what the children and families we serve accomplish, but instead their success will be measured by what they were willing to attempt because of the experiences that they have gained,” saidAnne Durot, director of educational programming.
