GLENVIEW — The recipients of the 2017 Glenview Civic Awards (presented in 2018) have been chosen. They are:
- Citizen of the Year – Jim Martin
- Youth of the Year – Christian Pareja
- Public Safety Award – Officer Carly Gaba
- Public Service Award – Dan Zapler, Megan Shipp and Kathryn Cartwright
- Special Committee Award – Monica Luna
The 2017 Glenview Civic Awards will be presented Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Chicago North Shore Suites, 1400 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview. Dinner and the awards ceremony will follow a reception from 6 to 7 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to recognize and pay tribute to the citizens in Glenview who have “made a difference” in 2017 by performing community service.
This civic event is sponsored by the Glenview Chamber of Commerce and these service clubs in the Village: American Legion Post 166, Glenview Women’s Club, Kiwanis Club of Glenview/ Northbrook, Lions, Navy League-Glenview Council, Optimist, Rotary-Luncheon and Rotary-Sunrise. Each year a member of each organization participates on a selection committee that reviews nominations and selects award recipients.

Reservations must be paid for at the time they are placed. Reservations are $50 per person. Arrangements may be made to reserve an entire table, if desired.
