SEASON REVIEW

Yes, the Murdock twins, Cate and Maggie, were special.
But how about those two other “sisters”?
Tradition and Confidence.
Veteran head coach Teri Rodgers pretty much has been on a win streak ever since she took over the New Trier program in the late 1990s. She currently has 497 wins during her career with the Trevians. She’s had no losing seasons, while six of her teams have won 30 or more games and nine others have won 20 or more.
Thus, by notching 24 wins against six losses, this year’s squad pretty much stayed in the norm. Tradition counts.
Confidence? That came early when New Trier jumped out to a 12-1 start.
Having Cate and Maggie Murdock in the fold certainly helped. Both players, who pretty much excelled in all phases of the game, made Special Mention all-state.
The other cast members also did the job, especially juniors Rebecca Goldman and Taite Ryan. Rodgers will build around this duo next season.
Two other players — sophomore guards Tinah Hong and Ava Zaslavsky — also figure to break out, when they receive extended playing time next winter
