Four players from the DailyNorthShore.com area have been named to the 2018 Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) boys all-state team.
Loyola Academy senior guard Kevin Cunningham was a third-team selection. He helped the Ramblers win 24 games this season.
New Trier, which ended up with a 25-6 record, had two honorees: senior guard Andrew Kirkpatrick and junior center Ciaran Brayboy. Kirkpatrick was a fourth-team pick. Brayboy was special mention all-state.
Highland Park’s Ziv Tal also was recognized for his play. The senior guard earned special mention honors after averaging 16.7 points per game. He capped his career with 1,136 points, which ranks him eighth all-time at HPHS.

The second-team selections include Darius Beane (Carbondale), Deonte Billups (Moline), Bryant Brown (Waukegan), Perry Cowan (DePaul Prep), Camron Donatlan (West Aurora), Justin Hardy (St. Charles East), Messiah Jones (Simeon), Lance Jones (Evanston), Anthony Lynch (Elgin Larkin), Jack Marinko (Edwardsville), Jordan Matthews (St. Rita), Sam Shafer (Lincoln-Way East), Malachi Smith (Belleville West), Evan Taylor (Glenbard West), Kaleb Thornton (Bolingbrook), Malik Tidwell (Marian Catholic) and Javon Williams (Centralia).
