WILMTTE – A Wilmette woman has been charged with attempted murder in connection with what police suspect is a domestic incident that took place on Thursday, January 18.
That morning just past 7 a.m., the Wilmette Police Department responded to a 911 call about a residence on the 1900 block of Highland Avenue. Upon arrival police officers found a 60-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A 27-year-old relative, Dinah Larson, fled the home on foot, according to a news release from the Wilmette Police Department. Officers located her in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue and took her into custody. After further investigation and review by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Larson was charged with one count of attempt 1st degree murder; one count of aggravated domestic battery; and one count of aggravated battery of a person 60 years or older.
She was transported to the Cook County Department of Corrections and remains in their custody on a no bond. A court date is set for Thursday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 105.
