West Deerfield Township offers assistance to residents to enroll for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Open Enrollment ends December 15, 2017.
A trained and certified counselor is available to work one-on-one with residents to help them understand their options, balance their medical needs and budgets, compare coverage and costs, and help ensure that enrollees receive the premium subsidies and cost-sharing reductions they may be income-qualified to receive.
In prior years residents have had 90 days for open enrollment, extending into January of the following year. This year open enrollment began in November and ends mid-December.
“We are concerned that many participant in the Health Insurance Marketplace will not be aware of this abbreviated open enrollment period and will miss on of health insurance for all of 2018 if they are not enrolled by December 15,” said West Deerfield Township Supervisor Alyson Feiger.
Resident who are currently enrolled in health insurance plans through the Marketplace have two options:
- Re-enroll in their existing plan for another year
- Select a different plan for 2018
Enrollees may find it beneficial to learn about changes that may have taken place in the existing plan, or review details and compare costs of alternative plans.
Appointment are available weekdays, with some weekend and evening hours. To schedule an appointment call 847-945-0614.
