The future? It doesn’t look too bad for the Loyola Academy boys soccer team.
The Ramblers finished the 2017 season with a 14-6 record, and they’re two all-sectional selections — midfielders Collin Leider and Daniel “Butter” Montaquila — are juniors.
Leider, who also made the all-conference team along with senior defenders Jonas Madison and Luke Phillips, tallied five goals and seven assists for the Ramblers.
Montaquilla chipped in two goals and three assists.
Two players led the team in goals. Freshman Tommy Zipprich got seven shots past the goalie while adding three assists.
Senior Ford Peterson capped his season with seven goals and two assists.
The team also received offensive help from Phillips (2 goals, 2 assists), junior David Gripman (5 goals, 4 assists), senior Roger Akela (4 goals, 2 assists), junior Christian Jimenez (3 goals, 3 assists), sophomore Nick Roscoe (3 goals, 2 assists), senior Nick Lew (2 goals, 2 assists), junior Brady Reichert (1 goal, 3 assists), freshman Oscar Blazer (2 goals, 1 assist) and Michael Sullivan (1 goal, 3 assists).
