I support the Village of Lake Bluff’s pilot program for chickens.
As stated by Ms. Briand, harsh winters in Minnesota have given chickens frostbite, which is one reason why chicken owners must have a well-designed coop. Proper bedding and the composting of manure helps to prevent the birds from freezing or getting frostbite. According to Chicagoland Urban Chicken Keepers, frostbite has not been an issue for backyard in our area.
