WINNETKA – Kick off your holiday season with “Some Assembly Required Holiday Singalong” at the Winnetka Community House.
Now in its fifth year, this holiday celebration is the perfect antidote to the pressures of the season.
Led by E. Marc Nevins (Highland Park), a local musician, singer, composer and the founder/Artistic Director of Ballet Entre Nous, you will experience the old-time fun of sitting in a comfortable setting and singing holiday classics. Marc is joined by other local talent, Chas Hall (Lake Forest) and Kitty West (Glenview) on vocals, Chris Ernst (Evanston) on banjo, Bev Sheridan (Lake Forest) on piano and Jonah Greenthal (Morton Grove) on keyboard. The real fun, however, is the audience who is encouraged to sing along and start the holiday season in full voice.
The program features many of the holiday classics and includes some Chanukah songs as well as little known holiday facts. The focus of the program is fun for the whole family. Nevins wants to provide a little reminder of what makes the holidays special: the spirit of giving and celebrating and enjoying each other’s company.
This is perfect for families and the kids are encouraged to dress up in holiday clothes. The singalong takes place in a cozy room and it’s very informal. Homemade cookies and treats will be served and a warm, welcoming atmosphere overwhelms the room. Please join us!
