GLENVIEW – Glenview’s beloved tradition of glimmer, shimmer, sweet treats, and Santa is back for the holiday season. Scheduled for Nov 25, the free Holiday in the Park and Parade is a cavalcade of delights, a family favorite offered by the Glenview Chamber of Commerce.
The magic starts at 4 p.m. on Glenview Road, as the holiday lights go live. Minutes later: Santa is on parade, joined by bands and marchers from Glenview’s businesses, schools and organizations. After the parade: Glenview’s tree lighting in Jackman Park. Then lots more fun: conversations with Santa, free presents and treats, plus hayrides and mini-train trips.
“We love kicking off the holiday season with our friends, neighbors, and customers,” says Jerry Doetsch, event chairman. “It’s one way to thank folks for shopping local, and it’s a happy time all around.”
Sponsors for the time-honored event include Emerald Place-an Anthem Memory Care Community, Glenview State Bank, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Northern Seasonal Services, NorthShore University Health System.
Details: Saturday, November 25, 4 p.m. on Glenview Road, between Waukegan and Lehigh.
