LAKE FOREST – Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital is closed on Friday, July 14, two days after a torrential storm-related power outage forced the evacuation of patients on July 12. A limited number of doctors offices will reopen for scheduled patient appointments, according Northwestern Medicine spokeswoman Megan McCann.
For updates, patients should call their doctor’s office and/or visit the hospital’s website.
McCann said in a press release that the hospital is closed “as we continue to restore infrastructure that was damaged by the recent storm. … We are currently working alongside our regulatory partners to ensure a safe patient environment in order to reopen the hospital to inpatient, surgical and other services.”
The hospital remains on ambulance bypass; patients who present to the Emergency Department will be redirected to other area hospitals or providers for treatment. Patients are encouraged to seek emergency care at other nearby facilities.
