Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group’s Lake Forest and Highland Park agents volunteered at Bernie’s Book Bank during the company-wide Week of Kindness. In conjunction with the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation, agents sorted 10,000 books, enough for 833 children. Bernie’s Book Bank’s mission is to collect, sort and distribute new and gently used books to at risk children throughout Chicago. During the week, close to 500 Realtors® from 24 of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group offices organized their own events to volunteer time and services to organizations in their respective communities.
“We have partnered with Bernie’s Book Bank for several years and it’s always such a rewarding experience,” said Mark Pasquesi, vice president and managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group’s Lake Forest and Highland Park offices. “When we learned that two out of three low-income children do not have books of their own, we really wanted to do what we could to help. Our work means that 833 kids will receive age appropriate books of their own.”
