@gives back raised $150,000 for Keith Relief foundation to help support Chicagoans suffering from medical crises.
CHICAGO – @gives back, the charitable arm of Chicago-based real estate firm @properties, recently presented a $150,000 check to Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith in support of Keith Relief, a local non-profit organization, founded by Keith, that is dedicated to alleviating the financial and emotional burdens of families and individuals suffering from medical crises.
The presentation ceremony was held at the United Center and aired during the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Columbus Blue Jackets game on March 31. Attendees included Keith, @properties co-founders Thaddeus Wong and Michael Golden, and the @gives back board of directors, led by board president Bari Levine of @properties, and vice president Kelli Fogarty, an attorney with Fogarty and Fugate.
Established in 2009 by Wong and Golden, @gives back was created to inspire charitable outreach among @properties’ brokers and to support local organizations with an emphasis on education, homelessness, youth development and community.
To raise money for Keith Relief, @gives back held a number of fundraisers headlined by the “@gives a hoot” country jam, which featured a VIP reception and hockey shootout with Keith, a silent auction and live entertainment.
“It was an incredible experience presenting this check on the Blackhawks’ home ice. We’re big fans of Duncan and his commitment to making a positive impact on our communities, so it was great to work with his organization on such an important cause,” said Wong.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with Duncan and for the support we received from our brokers and community,” said Golden. “Last year was the biggest fundraising year ever for @gives back, and we look to keep the momentum going this year.”
