I am writing to ask Moraine Township voters to support Anne Flanigan Bassi and the Democratic slate in the April 4 election.
Having lived in Highland Park for more than three decades, I have been impressed with how the Trustees have managed the office effectively and efficiently. They voted to reduce the compensation for elected officials by almost 30% in order to direct more resources to services for seniors, income-qualified and disabled Township residents. These exemplary elected officials efficiently manage a small office that provided over 17,000 resident responses/services in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2016.
In 1991, I began the Phyllis Santullano Holiday Drive by coordinating with our schools those children who were in need anonymously with generous community sponsors. I have been pleased to see this program that served 615 children in December has been continued to assure that needy children in our Township share in the joy of the holidays.
We are fortunate to have Moraine Township as a resource in our community where the needs of our most vulnerable citizens are the highest priority.
Please join me in voting for Bassi, Brown, Plouche, Alvarez, Douglas, Wolfson and Zisook on April 4.
