Ragdale’s Novel Affair 2016 thrilled guests from the North Shore and Chicago with its stellar line-up of best-selling authors and acclaimed artists at the two-evening benefit on April 29 and 30. Over 200 people attended the Friday evening cocktail reception at the elegant home of Sandra and Roger Deromedi in Lake Forest that featured eight best-selling writers, two award-winning visual artists, and a tour of the gardens and restored ravine. On Saturday, April 30 guests enjoyed an intimate dinner and lively discussion with two guest writers or artists in a private home or venue of distinction.
This year’s Novel Affair featured celebrated writers Thomas H. Cook, Kat Falls, Charles Finch, Lisa Genova, Jane Hamilton, Aleksandar Hemon, Anne LeClaire, Jacquelyn Mitchard, Casey Sherman, Gail Tsukiyama, visual artists Indira Johnson and Sabina Ott, and The Goodman Theatre Director, Robert Falls.
The tenth annual event was co-chaired by Board Trustees Sandra Deromedi, Jeanna Park and Sheridan Road magazine editor Dustin O’Regan with the assistance of Ragdale’s Events Committee and the Novel Affair Curatorial Board. Over $100,000 was raised to support The Ragdale Foundation, a non-profit artists’ residency in Lake Forest that provides over 150 artists and writers the time and space to pursue their work in an uninterrupted environment
