Caroline Frances Neibert, 87 of Vernon Hills, Illinois died May 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends following a brief illness.
Caroline was born November 16, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Caroline Tripam Frey and Joseph Frey. She attended Loretto Academy in Chicago from 1943– 1947. Her claim to fame was that of being one of the first female members of the Mount Caramel High School Cheerleading squad. She married Daniel Austin Neibert of Blue Island, Illinois on June 18, 1949 and celebrated 55 years of marriage up to his death on April 5, 2005.
Before moving to Cape Coral Florida in retirement she worked as a personal banker at Mount Greenwood Bank for 16 years from 1972 -1988. Caroline was a devout Catholic and ardent admirer of Mother Theresa. She was an advocate for the sick and weekly distributed the Eucharist to residents at several nursing homes. Caroline served as Eucharistic Minister of the Catholic Church for 15 years. She was also a volunteer at Cape Coral Hope Memorial Hospital for 18 years. Caroline move back to the Midwest in 2013 to be closer to her family. She knew no strangers and had such a big heart for all those she came in contact with. She loved her family and living life. Her favorite saying was, “I love life and I want to live.” She will live forever in our hearts.
Caroline is survived by her children Daniel (Mary Beth) Neibert of Toronto, Canada, Lynn (Daniel) Bruch of Lake Forest, Illinois, Nancy (Guy) Harper of South Bend, Indiana and Jan (Roger) Benson of Oak Lawn, Illinois; grandchildren Kevin and Eric Neibert, Lauren and Matthew Bruch, Brooke (Jerry) Benson McNicholas, Blake Benson and Julia and Guy Harper. She was preceded in death by her sister Frances Frey Gilbreth.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 950 W. Everett Rd., Lake Forest on Saturday June 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment private.
