  1. This is really great news for families in Knollwood. Residents in most of Knollwood (the exception is the far west part) don’t pay taxes to any library district and therefore are not “by default” members of a library. By state law, they may purchase a nonresident card at the Lake Bluff Library at the same rate Lake Bluff residents pay through their taxes. The nonresident cards provide full library privileges.

    With this intergovernmental agreement, all students in District 65 are ensured the same access to the library’s resources as their peers, regardless of whether their family is willing or able to purchase a library card. Many thanks to District 65 and the Lake Bluff Library for finding a way to make this work!
