NORTHBROOK — The Northbrook Public Library’s deadline for its 13th annual art show is fast approaching. Interested applicants have up until May 31 to submit their work for consideration.
Each year, the Northbrook Public Library runs an international juried art show in October, along with a gala opening and a $2,000 purchase prize. This year’s theme is Flights of Fancy: Unexpected Works of Whimsy. The Library is seeking artwork with a flair for the unconventional and uninhibited, and encourages the use of repurposed materials.
Accepted works will be on display at the Library from October 9 to November 20, 2015. A $2,000 purchase prize will be awarded to the winning artist, and the winning piece will be permanently on display at the Library. Other cash awards are also available. Jurying takes place in early summer.
Applications and additional details are available online at www.callforentry.org (search for “Flights of Fancy” in the call listings). Artists may submit up to five pieces. Application and $40 entry fee must be received by May 31, 2015 for consideration. The show is open to artists 18+. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
