LAKE BLUFF – In preparation for potential spring and summer storm season, the Village of Lake Bluff will work on a new Tornado/Alert Siren system on Monday, March 9. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the sirens may be temporarily sounded as part of their installation and testing.
Residents are reminded that these are only tests and there is not an emergency.
The new sirens are being installed to replace the single siren the Village previously used, which dated to the 1950s. The new sirens will provide better outdoor alert coverage in the Village, and will can be remotely activated by dispatchers at the Central Dispatch facility.
If there are any questions about the test siren activations, residents are asked to contact the Lake Bluff Police Department at 847-234-8760, extension 2.
