At Daily North Shore we love our pets – dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, etc. Our cell phones are loaded with pictures of our furry friends, and we suspect yours are, too. Let’s show them off. This week begins a new Pet of the Week feature.
Please share your pet photos by posting them to the Daily North Shore Facebook page (while you’re there, please “Like” us and tell us something about your pet). If you don’t have a Facebook account, you may use this Submit Photo form to send your photos an caption materials.
Each week we will randomly choose a photo on Daily North Shore from those submitted to the Pet of the Week feature, and we will periodically post photos of shelter animals with the hope that they will find a home. We are starting off the Pet of the Week feature with a dog who sadly is not in anyone’s cell phone album, as she resides at the Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook (and is looking for a human family to adopt her). We share her story here – and look forward to sharing your pet stories as well.
PeachesPeaches is as sweet as the fruit she’s named after! She’s 5 ½ years old and weighs about 50 pounds. This Labrador retriever/shepherd mix is considered special needs because she recently became vision impaired. She is adjusting well to her new challenges.Peaches enjoys going for walks and getting attention from all of her human friends. Shy at first, she will become quite affectionate once she gets to know you. She would do best in a home without young kids or cats. Please consider giving this wonderful dog the happy life she deserves.
Peaches is available for adoption at Heartland Animal Shelter, located at 2975 Milwaukee Avenue in Northbrook. The shelter hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 4-7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 12-4 pm. For more information on Peaches and the other animals available for adoption visit www.heartlandanimalshelter.net or call 847-296-6400.
