WILMETTE—Wilmette dispatch alerted patrol units to several 911 calls regarding a potential reckless driver exiting east bound Lake Ave. from the Eden’s Expressway, at around 2:45 PM, December 14th.
Officers located the vehicle on Skokie Blvd at Glenview Road; the driver was passed out behind the wheel. Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and he subsequently failed field sobriety tests.
The subject, 43-year-old Jose Leiva, was arrested for DUI and transported to the Wilmette Police Department. He submitted to a breath test disclosing an alcohol concentration of .230. He was charged and processed for DUI and was released on an I-bond.
