BOYS SWIMMING: Tommy Hagerty, Sam Iida and Jon Salomon led the way as Glenbrook South downed Arrowhead, Wis., 114-72 in an interstate dual meet on Dec. 6
Salomon took first in the 50 free (20.96) and 100 free (47.00).
Iida claimed the top spot in the 200 IM (1:56.18) and 100 back (52.61).
Hagerty won the 200 free (1:48,81) and 500 free (4:52.71).
That trio also helped GBS’s relay corps. They teamed up with Sam Salganik to win the 400 free relay in 3:14.09. In the 200 free (1:30.23), Salomon and Hagerty were joined by Steven Clare and Danny Dragman.
The foursome of Iida, Salganik, Dragman and Peter Dales won the 200 medley relay in 1:40.42.
Salganik also took first in the 100 butterfly (53.75), while Patrick Tener had the top diving score (227.25), just ahead of teammate Trevor Burke (222.95).
Byron Mandell just missed winning the 100 breast (1:04.74). He was nipped by Arrowhead’s Allen Roller (1:04.03).
A day earlier, the Titans took first in the six-team Deerfield Relays. They finished first in the 400 medley (Iida, Dales, Salomon and Hagerty), 300 medley (Iida, Dales and Salomon), 200 medley (Konrad Wojslaw, Trevor Utter, Joseph Park and Justin Zenteno), 400 breaststroke (Dales, Clare, Iida and Salomono) and 400 free (Salomon, Hagerty, Dragman and Salganik).
Tener claimed runner-up honors in the diving (433.55).
Senior Sean Scarry was the runaway winner in the diving competition at the Deerfield Relays on Dec. 5. His total was 577.43.
The 200 free was Deerfield’s top relay (3rd, 1:35.5) with Bobby Crane, Kellen Scanlan, Scott Stern and Ryan Smith.
