The Lake Forest Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday, Oct. 28, voted to continue the discussion of whether to grant a special use permit to a house on Walden Road that would enable Lake Forest College to use the property as an educational facility.
Whether he gets the SUP or not, Robert D. Krebs said he plans to donate his 9,200 square-foot-house at 1045 Walden Road to Lake Forest College. He doesn’t need the SUP to donate the home, but LFC would need the SUP to hold classes in it.
But how many classes is too many? That’s the question the ZBA zeroed in on at the end of a lengthy meeting Monday night. Saying a SUP is possibly better for the community at large because of the limits it places on the property, commissioners voted to continue the discussion at a later date to explore the issue of class frequency and size.
